What we agree to when you create an account and book through Onor. Written plainly, without legal jargon.

What Onor is

Onor is a digital platform that helps families find, compare and book the services of funeral homes in Greece and Cyprus. Onor is not a funeral home and does not itself provide the services shown on the platform.

Every funeral home shown on Onor (a "partner") is an independent business. The contract for the service you choose is formed between you and the partner; Onor intermediates so that you can find, compare and book it easily.

02

Your account

You need an account to make a booking. You can create one with an email and password or through Google. By creating an account you accept these terms and the Privacy policy.

  • You must be at least 18 years old.
  • The details you provide must be true and up to date. Your phone and email are how the partner will reach you.
  • Your password is personal. Anything done from your account is considered done by you, unless you notify us immediately of unauthorised use.
  • You can delete your account at any time from the settings or by writing to info@theonorapp.com.
03

How a booking works

You choose a partner and a service package, provide the basic details of the deceased and submit a booking request. The partner is notified immediately and confirms or declines the request within a short time window. Once confirmed, the booking is binding for both sides and contact details are exchanged.

  • The services and prices you see are declared by each partner and are binding on them for the booking they confirm.
  • Additional services you agree directly with the partner after the booking are not covered by the platform.
  • If the partner does not respond in time, the request expires automatically and you are not charged.
  • Onor checks the legitimacy of every partner before publishing their profile, but performing the service is the partner's responsibility.
04

Payments and service fee

For every booking Onor charges a service fee, shown clearly before you confirm the request. The fee is paid by card through our certified payment provider (Stripe); Onor does not store your card details.

The remaining cost of the service is settled directly with the partner, in the way and at the time you agree with them. The partner issues the legal invoice for their service; Onor issues a receipt for the service fee.

05

Cancellation and refunds

  • Before the partner confirms, you can cancel freely; the service fee is refunded in full.
  • After confirmation you submit a cancellation request. The Onor team reviews it together with the partner and decides on the refund of the fee, taking into account how close to the ceremony the request was made and whether the partner has already taken action.
  • If the partner cancels a confirmed booking, the service fee is refunded in full and we help you find an alternative right away.
  • Refunds go back to the payment method you used, usually within 5–10 business days.
06

Memorial pages and content

You can create a memorial page (announcement) to inform relatives and friends. The content you upload — text, photos — remains yours. You only grant us permission to display it on the page and in share previews for as long as the page is published.

  • Upload only content you have the right to use and that respects the dignity of the deceased and of others.
  • You can edit, unpublish or delete the page at any time.
  • Onor may remove content that is unlawful, offensive or infringes the rights of others, informing you where possible.
07

Personal data

How we collect and use your data — and the data of the deceased you give us — is described in the Privacy policy, which forms part of these terms. The details a partner needs to perform their service are passed to them only after they confirm the booking.

08

Liability

We make every effort to keep the platform available and the information accurate, but we cannot guarantee uninterrupted operation, nor are we liable for how each partner performs their service. For any issue with the service, contact the partner first; our team is available to help resolve it.

To the extent permitted by law, Onor's liability towards you is limited to the service fee you paid for the specific booking. Nothing in these terms limits the rights you have as a consumer under the law.

09

Acceptable use and termination

The platform is intended for genuine needs. You may not submit false requests, harass partners or other users, bulk-copy content or interfere with its operation. In such cases we may suspend or close your account after informing you, unless the seriousness of the incident requires immediate action.

10

Changes to the terms

We may update the terms as we add features. Every version carries a date and a number (see above). For material changes we will inform you by email or in the app before they take effect and, where required, ask you to accept them again. Continuing to use the platform after the update means you accept the new terms.

11

Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by Greek law. For any dispute not resolved amicably the courts of Athens are competent, without prejudice to consumer-protection rules that give jurisdiction to the courts of your residence.

As a consumer you may also turn to the Hellenic Consumer's Ombudsman (www.synigoroskatanaloti.gr) or the European online dispute resolution platform (ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr).
